Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

CineLog is operated by EZLOG LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using CineLog, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.

You must be at least 16 years old to use this App.

2. Description of Service

CineLog is a time logging and pay calculation application designed for film and television production crew members. The App provides:

• Work time logging and tracking
• Pay and overtime calculations based on industry contracts
• Team collaboration features for productions
• Timesheet and invoice generation
• Cloud sync across your devices
• Making Tax Digital (MTD) submission to HMRC for self-employed users

3. Subscriptions & Billing

CineLog offers multiple ways to access premium features:

3.1 Payment

All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. By purchasing or subscribing, you authorise Apple to charge your payment method for the applicable fee.

3.2 Week Pass (Consumable)

The Week Pass is a one-time purchase (not a subscription) that grants full access to CineLog Pro features for 7 days from the date of purchase. It does not auto-renew. You may purchase additional Week Passes at any time. Refunds for Week Passes must be requested through Apple in accordance with their refund policy.

3.3 Auto-Renewal (Subscriptions)

Monthly and Annual subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.

3.4 Price Changes

We may change prices at any time. Price changes will take effect at the start of the next subscription period following the date of the price change. Your continued use of the App after the price change becomes effective constitutes your agreement to pay the modified price.

3.5 Refer crew (optional)

Subscribers may share a personal referral link with crew on other productions. Referees receive the same Pro purchase options as any other user (Week Pass or subscription). Referrers may earn free subscription time when crew start a paid monthly or annual plan. Week Pass purchases and installing alone do not qualify. Rewards are applied through Apple In-App Purchase promotional offers.

4. Week Pass

The Week Pass is a low-commitment way to try CineLog Pro before subscribing.

• 7 days full access for a one-time £1.99 purchase
• Does not auto-renew; you may purchase additional Week Passes at any time
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Week Pass at any time

5. Cancellation & Refunds

5.1 How to Cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings or the App Store. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.

5.2 Effect of Cancellation

Upon cancellation:

• You will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
• Your data will remain accessible, but some features may become restricted
• You can resubscribe at any time

5.3 Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not have the ability to process refunds directly.

6. Your Account

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your Apple ID and device
• All activities that occur under your account
• Ensuring your account information is accurate

You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the App to transmit harmful code or malware
• Share your subscription access with others
• Use automated systems or software to access the App

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by EZLOG LTD and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for your own professional work as a film or TV crew member (including self-employed and sole-trader use) in accordance with these Terms. The App is not a substitute for payroll, deal-memo advice, or professional tax advice.

The CineLog name, logo, and all related names, logos, and slogans are trademarks of EZLOG LTD.

9. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you enter into the App.

• Your data is stored locally on your device
• If you enable cloud sync, your data is stored in Apple's CloudKit
• We do not access, sell, or share your personal work or financial data
• You are responsible for backing up your data
• The App may send anonymous product usage analytics as described in the Privacy Policy. This does not include your work logs, rates, invoices, or tax data. You can disable it in Settings.

10. HMRC Making Tax Digital (MTD)

CineLog provides an optional feature that connects to HMRC's Making Tax Digital for Income Tax APIs, enabling qualifying sole traders to submit quarterly income and expense updates and an annual final declaration directly to HMRC. MTD for Income Tax does not apply to Ltd company directors as a class; those users normally file Corporation Tax instead.

10.1 Your responsibility for submissions

CineLog is a software tool, not a tax adviser. Use of the MTD feature does not constitute tax advice. If you are unsure about your tax obligations, you should consult a qualified accountant or tax adviser.

10.2 Connecting to HMRC

• Connecting CineLog to HMRC uses OAuth 2.0. You will be asked to sign in with your Government Gateway credentials on HMRC's own secure pages. CineLog never sees your Government Gateway username or password
• By connecting, you authorise CineLog to submit data to HMRC on your behalf
• You can disconnect at any time from Settings within the app, or by revoking access through the HMRC Government Gateway

10.3 No automatic submissions

CineLog will never submit data to HMRC without your explicit action. All submissions require your review and confirmation within the app.

10.4 HMRC deadlines

CineLog displays your HMRC filing obligations and deadlines. It is your responsibility to ensure submissions are made on time. CineLog is not liable for any penalties or interest arising from late or inaccurate submissions.

10.5 Eligibility

The MTD feature is intended for UK self-employed individuals (sole traders) and limited company directors who are required to file under Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. You are responsible for determining whether you are required or eligible to use MTD.

11. Disclaimers

We do not warrant that:

• The App will meet your specific requirements
• The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• Pay calculations will be accurate for your specific employment situation
• The App will be compatible with all devices or operating systems

Pay calculations provided by CineLog use the rate you enter and supported agreement rules. Actual pay may vary based on your deal memo, production-specific terms, and payroll practice. Always verify before invoicing.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• EZLOG LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total liability for any claims arising from or relating to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim
• We are not liable for any loss of data, revenue, or profits

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless EZLOG LTD and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of a third party

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App will cease immediately
• All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms in the App
• Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Sending a notification through the App (for significant changes)

Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
